Flossie Dickey turned 110 years old and she was “not one bit” happy about getting interviewed about it.
The ornery whiskey-swigging centenarian appeared on Good Day Spokane the morning of her record-breaking birthday and she could barely stay awake or feign interest in the interview at her Washington senior home.
Nichole Mischke, the KHQ correspoondent, asked Dickey how she was feeling on the big day, to which Dickey grumbled:
“I am tired. I take a nap as many times as I can,” the testy great-great-grandmother said between sips of coffee from one of the network’s mugs.
Mischke posted on her Facebook page following the hilarious interview that “I don’t think she could have been less thrilled to have a camera in her face.”
“How do you think you’d feel if you were 110?” she said Dickey told her.
As for whether Dickey was excited about the big birthday party planned for her which would include at least some of her three children, 20 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren?
“Not one bit,” was her prickly response.
The Fox 28 anchors didn’t let Dickey off the hook for the answer everyone wants to know when someone reaches record-breaking ages — what’s the secret?
To which Dickey had a remarkably zen response:
“I don’t know, I don’t fight it. I live it.”
Hear, hear, Flossie.
