Six Flags Over Georgia retiring iconic roller coaster today


AUSTELL, Ga. – Since it first opened in 1990, Georgia Cyclone has become an iconic part of Six Flags Over Georgia, but Sunday, the wooden roller coaster will take its final ride. Georgia Cyclone opened 27 years ago, with a design based on the legendary coaster of the same name at Coney Island. Georgia Cyclone is a wooden coaster with nearly 3,000 feet of track, reaching top speeds of around 50 miles per hour.
