On more than one occasion, wrestler-turned-actor Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson has indicated an openness with the idea of a 2020 Presidential run.
A new poll says that if The Rock took the plunge, as of today, he would win.
According to Public Policy Polling, Johnson would prevail in a hypothetical 2020 matchup with Trump by a 42-37 margin. And it would seem that he has room to improve the margin. His favorable/unfavorable split is 36/13, with 50 percent having no opinion on the former WWE star.
In a lengthy profile in GQ which ran last week, the Ballers star discussed the idea of mounting a 2020 bid. (“I think that it’s a real possibility,” Johnson told the magazine.)
But would The Rock even be running against Trump in 2020? In the same poll, voters say they believe Trump will be out of office before then. A plurality of voters (45-43) believe that Trump will not finish a full term as President. By a 48-41 margin, voters indicated their preference to see the President impeached.
