3 Arrested After Break-In Becomes SWAT Standoff

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police arrested two adults and a teenager after a SWAT standoff at a house in Fulton County.
Police said they responded to a burglary in progress house in the 1000 block of Blairwood Court just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
They said they found three suspects trying to leave the home when officers arrived, who then went back into the house.
Police setup a perimeter and SWAT team members went into the house when the suspects would not come out.
Three suspects were found inside, police said. Police said the 2002 burgundy Dodge Durango the suspects were in earlier had been stolen out of Fulton County, specifically from the 1000 block of Fairburn Road.
The suspects were identified as Marion Wheeler, 23, Martavius Gay, 21, and a 16-year-old, according to police.
The adults were taken to the Fulton County Jail. They will have their first hearing Wednesday, police said.
The juvenile was taken to the Fulton County Juvenile Detention Center.
They are facing charges of burglary and theft by receiving stolen property.
No one was hurt in the incidents.
Police said that a neighbor told police the suspects tried to break-in to another house, but the homeowner answered. The suspects then went to the house where they were found, and broke in through the back door, police said witnesses told them.
The neighbor said the alleged thieves took things from the home and put them inside the vehicle now believed to be stolen.
The Fulton County Police Department said they are working with other agencies to investigate the suspects’ possible involvement in other crimes.
